Time per commission: Depends on the complexity of the commission. Anywhere from a few days (sketches, icons) to many months (complex CG work), and any time in between. I will give you an time estimate before the commission is started, and larger commissions will ALWAYS have periodic updates. C:

If you have a special date you want your commission by, please tell me in advance before the commission is finalized. I'm not that great with keeping with exact dates, but if you send me a reminder or two I'll be much more accurate time-wise.

How to Pay for Your Commission:
1.) Contact me about your commission BEFORE sending me any money.
(A description of what you want me to draw, whether it’s a sketch/CG/something else, etc.)
2.) I will contact you back.
(I may have questions for you regarding the commission. Note I always have the right to refuse anything I'm not comfortable with.)
3.) Send HALF of the Paypal payment to centradragon@hotmail.com (if over $50 total). Please include your last name (or username if you're sending info via paypal) and e-mail for clarification, so I will be able to match it up to my records.
(Totals equal or smaller than $50 must pay up front in full. For larger commissions, you may pay everything up front or wait until I am completely done to pay the second half.)
4.) I will send you regular WIP updates on the bigger commissions.
5.) I will send you a preview image of the final product.
6.) You send the last part of the payment.
(Skip this step if you had a smaller commission, as stated in Step 3.)
7.) You will receive the large version of your commission via e-mail.

PORTRAIT-- $25
A shoulders-up painting of a character (including simple BG/patterning), 1500-2500 pixels (300dpi)

CHARACTER PAINTING-- $50
A single-character painting (including a simple BG), 2500-3500 pixels (300 dpi) at the widest point. Prints about the same size as 8.5x11" (A4) paper.


+$25 for extra character

FULL PAINTING-- $Pending (but probably a lot LOL)
A full painting (including a detailed background), 6000-8000 pixels (300 dpi) at the widest point. Wide enough to print (at least!) borderless 13x19" (larger than A3).

If you want detail (and a LOT of it), this is the option for you. Expensive because it takes me 30-60 long hours to finish it to my satisfaction. I don't make decent wages off this, but it's good practice which is why I continue to offer them.

NOTE: For those of you who would rather have a physical piece of artwork. This will be done in mixed media, as I go more for aesthetics than sticking with a single medium. Dry media done on cardstock/bristol, wet media on watercolor/thick paper. Shipping prices in FAQ below~! c:

How much does it cost for me to get something shipped to me?
Generally 2-4 dollars within the US (this includes shipping fees and proper packaging). If you order multiple pieces, they will be packaged together and you will save money.
I want a print of my digital commission! Can you do that?
Surprisingly, yes. I have a professional-grade inkjet printer that prints up to 13x19" borderless, and I have both matte and glossy paper of all sizes. Sizes are approximate-- I would trim if your commission doesn't fit quite perfectly.
4x6" ($2)

Large-size prints (like 11x17) will cost extra to ship (since they're odd-shaped and require tubes, but I can't see it costing more than $5 total to ship). Regular-sized prints fall into the $2-4 shipping range listed above.
Do you sell prints?
Nope, not yet. The above printing prices are discounted for commissioners only, and just cover ink/paper/proofing cost. Regular prints will be sold at more standard prices (probably around $3/$7/$12/$16 respectively).
I want a background! How much are they?
Add on 50% of the base price. (unless included with the price)
What about an extra character?
Same as above.
Hey! What happens if I want BOTH? What now, huh?
Add the above two together.

$20 (base price of commission) + $10 (background) + $10 (extra character) = $40.

I want you to draw something that doesn't quite fit in with your categories. Is that okay?
I'm willing to negotiate prices for things (such as website splashes, comic pages, etc) that don't fall into specifics. c: Just drop me a PM and we can chat about the specifics!
Who owns the rights to the commission?
This is a great question! I'll try to make this as simple/easy-to-follow as possible:

I own the rights to the artwork. The commissioner is not permitted to sell or make money off my artwork unless the rights were transferred to the commissioner in a contract.
Characters originally owned by the commissioner still belong to the commissioner.
The commissioner has access to the high-resolution file, and is permitted to print/display it for his/her personal use.
I am permitted to post commissions in my art galleries or use as portfolio examples. Credit will be given to the commissioner.
I will not sell prints/make additional money off commissioned work, except in cases where:

The commissioner gives me permission.
I own the rights to the characters that were drawn.

To clarify the latter point:
If a commissioner asks me to draw my own original character, I can create/sell prints.
If a commissioner asks me to draw a fantasy scene with a nonspecific ice dragon, I can create/sell prints.
If a commissioner asks me to draw a fantasy scene with their own ice dragon character (she has a personality, a name, calls for a specific head shape/pattern, etc), I cannot create/sell prints.


99% of the time commissions are the commissioner's own characters, so it's not even an issue. But in the rare instance it's my own character or a character I designed for that commission, it's nice to have this written up.

In any case, if your commission *could* be made into a print, I'd let you know before I started the commission.
