A quick speedpaint in between commissions. :3 It's so rare that I get to paint dragons, let alone THE COLOR ORANGE.

Brought to you by the letter Y. >_>

One thing I want to experience in my lifetime is a solar eclipse. D: I've seen many lunar eclipses (which are also beautiful, and I'll paint them someday), but never anything as spectacular as the sun being covered by the moon. When I have money and time later in life, I'll travel the world to see them. :3

So... yep! Sorry it's not something more detailed, but I think it stands well on its own. Hope you guys enjoy it. <3

I love the bright contrast of the orange against the browns of the dragon and landscape. Very captivating. The only thing that particularly bothers me is the reflection. It looks wonderful as is, but not really realistic. In the painting, you highlighted the tiny waves and ripples of the water, but the reflection of the dragon is an exact replica of the real thing above. Try looking at some reflections of rippled water: I think the reflection needs to be a bit more wavy or broken.

Anyway, I still LOVE this piece and (from what I've seen just browing your page) you have a wonderful gallery. Keep working; you're doing wonderful.

I did see that reflection was a bit odd, but I didn't think it was worth the time to fix it (since this was a two-hour practice xD).

This was mostly an excuse for drawing an eclipse, but you're totally right. :9 I'll try not to be quite as lazy next time.

This is random, but I would also probably make the dark landmass more level on the right, since it defeats the illusion of a far-away landmass. :0

Sorry to butt in...but the reflection isn't That bad!...maaaybe dragons are mystical and their reflections are impervious to such distortions as water ripples! (Kidding SanguineAres!)
or or orrrrr....the water is extremely calm with ALOT of glowing-ish fish just beneath the surface?

-ps--land just looks like it is wrapping to the right from a good distance.

Over all I love this piece. It's rare you get dragons in a more serene state.

Oh wow, for a speed paint this is amazing

I like how the dragon is just like a shadow in front of the sun, and the orange colors make a nice contrast
:iconcentradragon:
I'm glad you like it. :3 Sometimes we need a break from LOL FIRE DRAGON ATTACKING.

Serene = like a good dose of warm tea or something. xD

Haha... I guess I can get away with the slight bending in reality this time, since the subject is a dragon. >3>
