My entry for the 2012 Anthro Calendar~ :la: The mythical animal that I chose was the tanuki of Japanese folklore—


"The legendary tanuki is reputed to be mischievous and jolly, a master of disguise and shapeshifting, but somewhat gullible and absent-minded." —Wikipedia


They're a really interesting bunch, and the Japanese have some equally interesting ways of portraying certain parts of their anatomy (which I chose to omit for obvious reasons, LOL).

For those interested in purchasing a copy of the calendar, pre-orders are now open, and there's an early-bird discount until the 30th ($20 + $2.50/8.00 shipping depending on if you're an Australian resident or International). At the very least, be sure to check out the other artists' entries (the above link should have everyone's gallery)! ;D

This is a lovely picture. So happy and full of warmth. I love that they're in the shade, and the different designs of the various tanuki. Beautiful. :)

You chose to omit parts of the anatomy, but they seem to have worked their way into the fruits anyway!

I love the picture. the background is really nice and the raccoon dogs or tanukies are so expressive.
